Arunmozhi, also known as Napoleon Selvaraj, is an acclaimed Indian playback singer and a skilled flutist. Born in 1951, he has collaborated with renowned music directors in the Indian film industry, including Ilaiyaraaja, Shankar Ganesh, Deva, S. A. Rajkumar, Viji Manuel, Swararaj, Harris Jayaraj, Sirpy, Vidyasagar, Soundaryan, Karthik Raja, Siva, Masa, Dhina, and Yuvan Shankar Raja. His repertoire includes a multitude of songs composed by these maestros.
Arunmozhi’s talent extends beyond his singing prowess, as he is also a proficient flutist. He is an integral part of Ilaiyaraaja’s musical troupe, where he showcases his flute skills during performances. Notably, Arunmozhi possesses a deep understanding of Western musical notes and has been known to interpret and explain Ilaiyaraaja’s compositions to other musicians in the group.
